The Organizing Committee of the 6th International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament APHRODITE CUP, in coordination with the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation and the Municipality of Palaio Faliro, is sad to announce the postponement of this year’s tournament for next spring, due to the persistent uncertainty regarding sporting activity after the coronavirus outbreak.

During the last months, the O.C. has been continuing the preparations in order to host the event from October 23th to 25th, 2020, according to the rescheduling of the original dates.

However, despite the positive outlook of the COVID-19 disease containment in Greece, the overall global situation has not improved as much as we should hope for, and the majority of our friends and delegations from abroad have been skeptical regarding their participation in the event.

The ongoing restrictions for international travelers, especially for non-EU residents, the existing possibility of eventually holding the tournament behind closed doors, along with our main interest to protect all gymnasts’ and delegation members’ health and also provide a top-notch event to everyone involved, have forced the O.C. to decide the cancellation of APHRODITE CUP 2020.

The 6th International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament APHRODITE CUP will now be held in the spring of 2021 (the exact dates will be announced shortly, as soon as the FIG makes official its 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics Calendar), with the certainty that it is going to be as good as ever, keeping the same high quality standards set in the previous years and with the strong desire to create a unique Rhythmic Gymnastics celebration, available to every member of the great RG family, from all over the world.

All delegations registered for APHRODITE CUP 2020 have already been informed accordingly, and accommodation costs refunds have started, too.

New Directives for each event (FIG Competition and Non-FIG Competition), in view of APHRODITE CUP 2021, will be published soon on our official website, http://aphroditecup.com.

We thank you once again for your understanding. We will keep you informed as soon as there are more updates.

We hope to see you all in Athens, Greece, at the next APHRODITE CUP in 2021!

Stay healthy – Stay safe and strong!
